| Rock' N' Roll, as the main embodiment of young people's culture, has brought tremendous change to language, hairstyle, dressing, life-style on the micro-level and to culture, politics, way of thought on the macro-level throughout the world. In its worldwide aggression process, Rock' N' Roll is greatly influenced by visual art which is influenced in return;new trend of thought comes one after another. With the strong penetration of business into the whole society, the unique Rock' N' Roll visual culture comes into being.As the major means of spreading and selling Rock' N' Roll, its product package is embodied with unique artistic character due to its special ways of expression and the rich connotation. The unique artistic character incarnates mainly on visual design. Pioneering, grotesque designs find most suitable position here and obtain extensive acceptance. They send immense attack on design and culture as well. Unfortunately, this has not attracted people's attention in either cultural field or design field, and there is almost no study of Visual Design of Rock' N' Roll Product Package. However, except for its innovative and realistic significance, the choice of this subject is also due to the author's own interest towards design and Rock' N' Roll.This paper combines visual art with Rock' N' Roll, and makes a comprehensive study of visual design of Rock' N' Roll product package with the theoretical basis of design, sociology, psychology, aesthetics and culture.The whole paper can be divided into five parts. The first part runs from Chapter One to Chapter Four. It mainly studies visual design of Rock' N' Roll product package from the perspective of design.After the definition, origin, development and style of Rock' N' Roll are presented, the paper explores the consumers (Rock' N' Roll listeners) of Rock' N' Roll package and their aesthetic psychology, analyzes and generalizes three factors of design graph, color and character in visual design of Rock' N' Roll product package, and finally classifies the visual design styles.Study of visual elements and styles is the focus of this paper. Chapter Five is the second part of the paper. As this part studies visual design of Rock' N' Roll product package from the perspective of aesthetics and culture, gives identification for the aesthetic and cultural characteristics of visual designs of Rock' N' Roll package, it is of great significance to give a generalization for the whole paper. |
