The other kind of CHANG's rewriting is that the two versions are created not closely on time, the outer condition has changed obviously, so has the writer's attitude. This kind of rewrting can be influenced by different linguistics system in different times, it can also be influenced by political, economic and cultural factors. Sometimes the main tone of the early version Owill be changed, and the rewriting appears more creative, such as JinSuoJi, Eighteen Springs.The add and deletion of words and phrases, the continuation of tradition and the creative rewriting of early text are three main respects which are all well cared for by CHANG in her rewriting.This thesis studies the specific rewriting condition of some CHANG's novels, analysizes the advantages and disadvantages of this process and the inner and outer reasons which impel CHANG to rewrite. The first chapter studies the rewriting of some novels in the Legend, shows the change of the text which was brought by add and deletion of words and phrases. The second chapter analysizes the rewriting of Eighteen Springs and Half Life's Love. This rewriting is the review and correction of CHANG's early historical views, the conception of the country and nation and the imagination of world scope. At this time, she goes back to the 'Legend' style. The third chapter emphasizes the rewriting of JinSuoJi and YuanNv, tries to find out the different meaning of the two text. The last chapter studies the rewriting from TheRouge of the North to YuanNv, analysizes the different text nature of the English version and the Chinese version.
