This thesis adopting materialism and historical materialism method analyzes Eastern Jin Southern Dynasties military geography.At the period of Three Kingdoms, Cao Cao, Liu Bei and Sun Quan divide the country into trisection, Jin Zhou situated at the middle reaches of the Changjiang River, because of the important geographical predominance, became the focus the three scrabbled for, and played important role in historical stage gradually. At the period of Eastern Jin Southern Dynasties, the regime of Han nationality was content to retain sovereignty over Jiangnan, Jin Zhou became the forefront that the north and the south confronted each other, became the most important jetton that the south confronted the regime of northern minority by dint of the Changjiang River, and became important strategical hinge.This thesis carries on the analysis from the angle of military geography and generalizes the formation and representation of Jin Zhou strategical hinge status, especially analyzes the reasons of the formation of its important strategical hinge status, not only because of Jin Zhou advantageous geographical conditions, developed economy and ample population but also depending on the political policy of stratagem recovery carried out by the regime of the Han nationality which retained sovereignty over Jiangnan. One one hand, Jin Zhou has the recovery responsibility to the north, it must have powerful economical and military strength, on the other hand, the defense generals of Jin Zhou always wanted to develop their strength by dint of these advantages. This conflict pronged the beginning and the end of Eastern Jin Southern Dynasties. This thesis gets important historical lessons through this conflict through analysis.
