This dissertation discusses and analyses the Confucian scholars' thoughts of excluding Buddhism from some famous literatures against Buddhism of the traditional culture. The relationship between Confucian and Buddhism plays an important role in research of Chinese philosophy. Since it was introducted into China, Buddhism was attached and excluded by the Confucianists. Confucian scholars have written many articles to attach Buddhism from many aspects. Therefore, it is necessary to study the Confucian scholars' thoughts of excluding Buddhism from some famous literatures against Buddhism.The dissertation is divided into three parts: Jin, Northern and Southern dynasties; Sui and Tang dynasties-, Song and Ming dynasties. In each part, the dissertation analyses the focuses, the characters and the influence of the Confucian scholars' thoughts of excluding Buddhism in that period. At last, it concludes the general characters of the Confucian scholars; thoughts of excluding Buddhism in three epoches.
