| The thesis holds that the rhymes can be classified into 22 classes through studying the connections, investigations on 1970 rhyme segments of 1129 archaic poems written by four poets of Jiang Xi in Yuan Dynasty. Yin Sheng rhyme has eight classes: the class of ge ge, the class of jia ma, the class of yu mo, the class of zhi wei, the class of hui hai, the class of hao yao, the class of xiao xiao, the class of you hou; yang sheng rhyme has eight classes: the class of jian lian, the class of qin xun, the class of han shan, the class of xian xian, the class of zhen wen, the class of geng zheng, the class of jiang yang, the class of dong zhong; ru sheng rhyme has six classes: the class of wu zhu, the class of duo jue, the class of qi bu, the class of zhi shu, the class of fife mo, the class of xue tie. The classification of yin sheng rhyme and yang sheng rhyme is consistent with its classification in Meng Gu Zi Yun. The classification shows that poets of Jiang Xi rhyme words on the basis of formal language in tong yu, such as, rhyming of the rhyme ending -m and -n; rhyming of the classes zhi hui and hui hai; combination of the rhyming words of xie she qi ji fei and zhi she into the class of zhi wei; combination of dang she and jiang she; the combination of zeng she and geng she; incomplete belonging of the rhyming words of Yuan Dynasty to shan she; the rhyming of words of the class of qi into the class of de mo; the maintaining of ru sheng except the weakening of the rhyming ending and the rhyming of some ru sheng into the class of ying sheng; the incomplete quan zhuo shang bian qu. The phenomena above all conform to the formal language in tongyu.The poetic rhymes of Jiang Xi in Yuan Dynasty also show the characteristics of Jiang Xi dialect and the dialect of the south: the rhyming of the classes of ge ge and jia ma, the rhyming of the classes of jia ma and yu mo, the rhyming of the classes of yu mo and hao yao, the rhyming of the classes of yu mo and zhi wei, the rhyming of the classes of xiao xiao and the class of you hou, the rhyming of the classes of han shan and zhen wen, the combination of the rhyme ending of front and back nasals, ect. |
