Reports are a kind of widely applied style. English reports, whether its extensive or intensive meaning, are larger by far than those of Chinese reports, among which English business reports are an important branch that is of great significance in nowadays' economic development. China's rapid economic development and its affiliating into the World Trade Organization require more professionals well equipped with a good command of business English. Consequently, business reports, as a main conveyor of information in companies, are engaged in an unchallengeable position to perform functions from vital decision-making to simple event records.The paper is enlightened by the analytical approaches of Short and Crystal, indicating the stylistic features of business reports from the following four aspects: graphological level, lexical level, syntactical level, and textual level. The paper makes the analysis based on six different types of typical English business reports and identifies their characteristics in different stylistic levels. The thesis aims to generalize the stylistic features and composing techniques of business reports and put forward feasible proposals for English business report writers and readers. The paper is expected to improve their reading and writing capabilities in business reports and accumulate some experiences for the future research.
