As a main part of Jianghuai Mandarin,Lu'an Dialect belongs to the segment of Hongchao speeches.Lu'an lies between Jianghuai Mandarin and Wu Dialect,so its character contains the two dialects. To this day, people in Lu'an have had some idea that they really live in the middle of the northern and the southern dialects. And they have hitherto taken the northern without Ru-sheng as Kuazi and the spoken-Wu-dialect people as Manzi. In the northern dialects,Ru-sheng is one of the main characters of Jianghuai Mandarin.Lu'an Dialect has Ru-sheng and its Ru-sheng is much better preserved. And its Ru-sheng has existed on its own without matching with other rhymes ,and at the same time, Ru-sheng rhymes must be followed with -?.Lu'an Dialect is thoroughly described through the study of the systerm of its phonects and by contrasting with modern Peking readings.
