The aim of mind and Buddhata in the philosophy of Buddhism is to neglect the reality of the objective world and solve the problem of becoming Buddha. So does Hui Neng' s mind and Buddhata theory. Mind and Buddhata is the focus of Hui Neng' s theory. All the principles grounded on it such as foundation, method, possibility and ability of becoming Buddha.This article states Hui Neng' s mind and Buddhata theory and its aesthetic meaning. Beginning with the concept of mind and Buddhata as the logical starting point, it is composed of three respects: characteristic of Buddhata, humanization of Buddhata and enlightenment of Buddhata in oneself.The first chapter includes Buddhata of original peace and quiet, heart like vast and vacant sky, everyone prajna, and explains the relationship of Zen' s and poetic theory by showing the mood of Wang Wei' s poets and the vacant and quiet aesthetic attitude. The second chapter discusses humanization of Buddhata which is one of the largest pioneering works Hui Neng had done. This chapter composes of all kinds of things for human being, the principle of humanization of Buddhata that is consisted of self-confidence, self-respect and self-enlightenment, and re-explanation of dhyana and mati that directly caused Zen masers and literati to live on a peaceful and quiet life.
