A Study Of The Lexicon Of Dazhuangyanlunjing

Kumarajiva's Dazhuangyanlunjing is a Chinese transition of Buddhist sutras translated in Yao-Qin Dynasty, which has specialities in language. The thorough study of the vocabulary of Dazhuangyanlunjingwill be benefit to the study of the history of Chinese lexicon. The dissertation attempts to have a preliminary study on the lexicon of Dazhuangyanlunjing by using the methods of the traditional study and the modern lexicological theory.The dissertation comprises six chapters. We study the lexicon of Dazhuangyanlunjing from four facets.In the first chapter we review briefly the study on the Middle-ancient lexicon of Chinese transition of Buddhist sutras in recent two decades, and discuss some relative questions in this thesis.In the second chapter we have a brief introduction on Kumarajiva and Dazhuangyanlunjing.In the third chapter we discuss the general picture of the lexicon system of Dazhuangyanlunjing and simply introduce the old words derived from Pre-Qin, Western and Eastern Han Dynasties. Wei and Jin Dynasties. It's quite obvious that about three - fourths vocabulary of the Chinese transition of Buddhist sutras originated in ancient Chinese.In the forth chapter we describe thoroughly the new words and new senses of some old words of Dazhuangyanlunjing. We concentrate on the study of the structure and form of the new words and the source of the new senses of the old words.
