Trial Study On Liu Shi-pei's Nationalism Thought In Early Stage

As the important part of the Three Principle of People,Nationalism not only played a vital role in the national-democratic revolution during early days of 20st century,but also is the powerful thinking weapon to fight against the Qing Dynasty.It can not be denied that in his early years,Liu Shi-Pei has propagated nationalism energeticly that produces positive effect on the revolution process.The article attempts to appraise Liu Shi-pei's Nstionalism from his revolutionary activities before 1908 and it mainly probe from four aspects:The first part has probed into the forming reason:(1)The thinking origin of the forming of his nationalism lies in the Confucian thought,the Theory of Evolution and the Ethnology that Chinese comed from west.(2)The basic reason is the crisis-ridden of our nation.(3)His special lot promotes the forming of his thoughts.The second part has discussed the content.(1)The thought of Anti-Manchu is the main thread of his nationalism.(2)The thought of Anti-imperialism is a very important part of his nationalism.(3)A tentative idea of the ethnic equality .(4)Restore the national confidence by the culture-nationalism.The third part has summaried the main characteristic:(1)The propagating of his nationalism embodied academical characteristic.(2)He advocated violent revolution and arousing the masses of the people to join the revolution.(3)He Combined the nationalism thought which aims at Anti-Manchu with the democratic revolution thought.(4)He merged Anarchism into his nationalism thought.The fourth part compared Liu Shi-pei's nationalism with Zhang Tai-yan's and evaluated Liu's thoughts objectively.
