Wu Zhi-hui's Nationalism Thought During The Period Of 1911 Revolution

As the important part of the Three Principle of People, Nationalism is not only approved universally by the bourgeois revolutionary, but also is the powerful thinking weapon to fight against the Qing Dynasty. In his early years, Wu Zhi-hui has propagated nationalism energeticly that produces positive effect on the revolution process. The article attempts to appraise the forming course, reason, and characteristic of Wu Zhi-hui' s Nationalism from his revolutionary activities.The first part has traced the forming course. The article divides it into three stages: The germinating stage is from the childhood to 1901, the shaping stage is from 1901 to 1903, and the mature stage is from 1903 to 1910.The second part has probed into the forming reason : The thinking origin of the forming of his Nationalism lies in the Confucian thought; And the theory of evolution presents the stream of thought for him; Above all, beseting with difficulties both at home and abroad is the basic reason; As the same time, the help of Sun Yat-sen and Cai yuan-pei promotes the forming of his thoughts.The third part has discussed the content. At first, Wu Zhi-hui tries his best to advocate Anti-Manchu. Then, he reveals the intention of the ruler who wants to preventrevolution under the guise of constitution. Otherwise, he also objects to imperialist' s intruding into our nation.The fourth part summaries the characteristic. The first characteristic is combining the Nationalism thought which aims at Anti-Manchu with the democratic revolution thought; The second is making full use of the Anarchism thought ; And arousing the masses of the people to join the revolution is the third one.
