China has a long history and splendid national culture. In the thousands years development, there had become a peculiar culture spirits of China. To the end of the 20th century, China commenced modernization, the conteraction of the traditional culture pattern has been exposed. But the socialist modernization needs spiritual prop from philosophy, so there is of momentous significance to reconstruct the new culture spirits during the Chinese modernization. In the first part of the thesis, I expounded the development of the culture pattern and the traditional culture pattern of China. In general, we can divide the history into three civilization formation, and there is three corresponding culture pattern, that is the culture pattern of primitive society, the culture pattern of traditional agricultural culture and the culture pattern of modern times industrial culture. The Chinese traditional culture pattern is a naturalism that keep foothold on the belief of "unity of world and man", it's a living pattern of ethics centralism that lay particular stress on human relations practice. It reflects the spontaneous and naturally spirit of typical agricultural culture. However, the Chinese culture developed until now, it has limitations not to be ignored, it can't agree with the spirit of science ,democracy and rationality of industrial culture, and it had been pounded by unrationalism when the rationalism cannot be constructed. So when Chinese socialist modernization is in progress, the traditional culture pattern cannot supply the spiritual prop to modern industrial culture, it brought more reaction to modernization. So the Chinese culture pattern's transformation put forward the schedule. In the second part of the thesis, I expounded the criticize of the West rationalism and the construction of the new rationalism. Then we may get some valuable enlightenment to reconstruct the Chinese culture spirits from it. The West traditional culture is a progress of the traditional rationality development. The industrial culture which the core is rationality brought an unprecedented achievement to human, but the rational culture pattern cannot let human live a happylife, the technology alienation and culture crisis brought all sorts of pressures to human. The man cannot get the self-ironclad-proof, but can realize the unprecedented great life value and significance of human spirit evolution during the culture conflict. As a result, many thinkers and theorists inquired and criticized into the problem. They focused the issue on the reconstruction of culture spirits, to supply means to the West rationalism reconstruction and enlighten the new culture spirits reconstruction of China. So China can use the experience of the West for reference, and also keep foothold on the Chinese traditional culture, combine the condition of China, construct the new culture spirits agree with the modernization.
