For many centuries, translation theoreticians and practitioners at home andabroad have been looking for ways to convey the intended meaning of the SL to TLproperly and effectively, i.e. they want to get perfect translation. What is a perfecttranslation? Many translators try hard to attain 'equivalence'between the twolanguages and equivalence serves as an ideal aim. For this concept we should knowtwo points: equivalence is not an absolute notion but a relative one.The concept of equivalence has been a central issue in translation. Manytheorists have done a lot of research around it and made contributions to it. Theyhave got fruitful achievements in this aspect. With the development of globalization and China entering WTO, thecooperation and trade between China and other countries and districts are rising inmany aspects. Business English, as an important tool for business communication, becomes more and more important. However, it is an area often neglected bylinguistic researchers. Business English Translation needs theoretical guidance. Thispaper aims to not only analyze something related to Business English and itstranslation, but also put equivalence theory into Business English Translationpractice. At the same time, some suggested ways have been provided.Although equivalence theory cannot solve all problems in Business EnglishTranslation, we still believe, with the globalization of economy and exchanging ofeconomy and culture, the obstacles in translation will decrease gradually to theproximity of equivalence. Therefore, the adaptation of equivalence theory will bealso improved correspondingly in Business English Translation.
