Abstract/Summary:
Research on achievements of Chinese translators acts as an integral part of, and contributes significantly to the sound and complete development of Chinese translation studies. If their practical experiments and theoretical thoughts were not taken into account, translation studies would look pale and develop at a slower pace.This thesis is designed for tentative research and analysis on Huang Xinqu's translations by means of a multi-perspective, especially comparative approach, so as to absorb quintessence from his translation practice and hence provide some valuable ideas for translation studies in general.In addition to introduction and conclusion, the thesis mainly consists of 4 parts.The introduction suggests the content, structure and research method of the thesis.Chapter 1 gives a brief summary of Huang Xinqu's translation career and his translated works from a diachronic perspective, providing the reader with brief introduction of Huang.Chapter 2 makes research on 3 Chinese versions of "A Psalm of Life". Through comparison of respective translated versions by different translatorsof the same original piece, the uniqueness of Huang Xinqu version is outlined and analyzed.Chapter 3 focuses on Huang's Chinese-English translations.Chapter 4 focuses on hints got from Huang's translations.The conclusion gives a summary of the whole thesis.
