The purpose of this thesis is to discuss the creativity of folk-graphics from the point of view of visual thinking. People used to perceive the value of a folk-graphic artwork visually by its external form. However, this thesis focuses on the reasons beneath the surface: what is the in-depth source of folk-graphic designer's creativity; and what are the rules and characteristics in folk-graphic design.Graphic design is a visualization of concept, so visual thinking should be an important point to study the folk graphic. During the thinking process, visualization is often employed. Visual thinking, as a kind of intuition thinking, is non-logic and discontinuous, but can help people grasp the truth and essence under the surface more directly. Contrary to the educated thinking method of civilian, visual thinking is employed more frequently in the folk graphic design. Although folk graphic designers neither have knowledge of perspective nor sophisticated technology, they can also develop their imagination more actively. In order to search the reason beneath it, this thesis focus on characteristics of viewpoint recognition, time recognition and space recognition, which can be applied in general graphic design practices.The purpose of studying folk graphic design from the perspective of visual thinking is not only to examine the thinking methods employed folk graphic design, but also to find a good way to apply them in today's modern graphic design practice, so that the graphic designers can generate their design concepts in a more versatile way. Based on this idea, the thesis tries to employ abnormal recognition principal and override general impression of the world to increase the fun and creativity of graphic design.
