Great development has been made in the study of translation between Chinese and Uygur in Xinjiang since the opening and reforming policy. And distinct performance has been also obtained. A series of new viewpoints have been come up with in the study of this field. Also many new personages are emerging. All things have accelerated the process of study of translation between Chinese and Uygur. During this stage, to some degree, the study of translation is developing increasingly. Retrospection is good for prospection. Through applying some methods: such as statistical method, listing method, inductive method and deductive method, we can retrospect the study of translation between Chinese and Uygur in Xinjiang since the opening and reforming policy. It is certain that there are some problems which are subsisting in it. And at the same time, the trends in the future could be seen. They are just the solutions of this thesis. This thesis is consisted of four chapters. The frist chapter: the retrospection of new achievements in the translation between Chinese and Uygur in Xinjiang since 1978. In this part, some new achievements are retrospected, it mainly introduces and evaluates some books which were published. The second chapter: the retrospection of new exploration in the translation between Chinese and Uygur in Xinjiang since 1978. Some new viewpoints and personages are introduced, and it especially introduces the magazine ((language and translation)) .
