The Diary of Hell is the first and only grostesque satire novel of Zhang Tianyi. Its centel value is the significance of exploration of the novelAccording to the opinion and from the angle of China's moden history of novels ,the thesis first explores the conflict between the exploration of Diary of Hell and the realistic views on literature while was popular in 1930's,and discusses thoroughly the condition between the means of realistic literature creation and the campaign of the left wing literature in China in 1930's,and its historicial lesson .The second part of the thesis pays close attention to the novel's significance of exploration to realistic literature and its breakthough through thorough version explanation .It is a kind of breakthough to the theme of the Left Wing novel ,and alse to the creative means of realism at the time .The former problem mainly explors the significance of the breakthough.
