The remanent lterators of Ming Dynasty have created a new calligraphic style, which was characterized by peculiarity and exaggeration. It was absolutely different from the orthodox calligraphic style created by Xizhi'Wang, and became an indispensable part of the Chinese calligraphic history. There are many reasons that lead to this kind of varied calligraphic style; the most influential one was the change of the dynasty. So, if we want to investigate the calligraphic style of the remanent literators of Ming Dynasty, the first step we should do is to discuss the relationship between their mind and their calligraphic style.This dissertation is divided into six chapters:The first chapter is the preface. The aim of this chapter is to discuss the current research achievement and the research method of this topic, and then put forward the difficult point and the focal point of this topic.The second chapter is the calligraphy of the remanent literators of Ming Dynasty. It described the calligraphic achievement of the remanent literators of Ming Dynasty, discussed the relationship between this people and the calligraphy, and then, classified the calligraphy of the remanent literators into three types. After the change of the regime, the calligraphy of the remanent literators entered into an absolutely new phase, it attached more and more importance to pure art. For this remanent literators, the process of calligraphic composition can be regarded as a pipeline, through which they can express the yearning of their lost state and home. So, their calligraphic style was different from each other, and the calligraphic development of this period was characterized by frequent variation.The third chapter probed into the origin of this kind of varied calligraphic style. It can be classified into three facets: the content of the remanent literators' thoughts, their aesthetic influence on the calligraphic composition of that historic period, the activities of the remanent literators.
