A Study On Economic Development And Environment In LiangSong District During The Warring States, Qin And Han Dynasties

In the period of Warring States ,Qin and Han Dynasties , the feudal society began to establish and develop , the feudal economy represented by agriculture had grown much. Because of the difference in environmental condition , social and economic development was very uneven in different area. We Select LiangSong economic district , which played important role in Chinese history as the object of study .This thesis links economic development with environmental condition ,relates the fact of LiangSong's economic development , analyses favorable and unfavorable terms In the Warring States ,Qin and Han Dynasties . This thesis includes three parts . Part One : The fact of economic development in LiangSong district. In the Warring States , LiangSong was one of the early developed agricultural areas . Advanced agriculture drove the development of handicraft industry and commerce , and then promoted the prosperity of the industrial and commercial city. In the period of Qin and Western Han Dynasty , agricultural economy improved a lot in breadth and depth, handicraft industry and commerce made considerable progress , the population reached a new height ,too. The economy of LiangSong district contributed to its economic prosperity. In the period of the Eastern Han Dynasty , agriculture of liangSong continued to develop, country estate economy became to ripe , the commerce developed slowly, LiangSong had lost its leading position in urban status , and its proportion in national population dropt slightly ,but it still could be regarded as a densely populated district. In this period , agricultural economy was the main economic character in LiangSong district , urban economy and local economy were outstanding. At the same time, the economic development of LiangSong was reflected on the culture, too. Part Two: The probe to reason related to regional environment of LiangSong economic development. The reason of economic development was due to many aspects, this part takes environmental condition as the main thread . In the Warring States ,Qin and Han Dynasties, LiangSong's natural condition was favorable ,which provided a lot to agricultural economy, traffic advantage and brought far-reaching influence to irrigation conservancy. In addition, as environmental terms , the favorable political and historical factor had positive influence to economic development of LiangSong district, too. Part Three: Environmental condition influence to regional restriction of LiangSong economic development and history. In the period of the Warring States, Qin and Han Dynasties, the regional economy of LiangSong developed rapidly. This caused changes of geographical environment and became more and more remarkable. The Yellow River overflowed frequently. Floods, drafts and locusts also took place frequently. All these brought negative effect on the development of LiangSong district. Climate change, deterioration of the ecological environment restricted further development of agricultural production to a certain extent in this period. Liang Song's geographical position determined that it be the pilosity area of wars. The wars made social economy and ecological environment destroyed greatly. In addition, LiangSong's people had conservative, simple and unsophisticated thoughts, which became restrict factors to the economy development, too.
