The Imitation Loanword And The Lexicon Standardization Question

This thesis studies the"imitation loanword",which is now being used more and more in Mandarin Chinese.The imitation loanword is different form the SO—called loanword in several resDects,in which the most important is that the imitation loanword is not loaned from the foreign language but is created by the original language.According the study we made,it is seems that there are SO many imitation loanword that it has been affected the Mandarin Chinese standardization negatively,which leads to a pressing appeal to standardize the Mandarin Chinese. In the thesis we turn first to the makeup of the imitation loanword,and we make a thorough description about the imitation loanword.From the results we CaD draw the conclusion that:the imitation loanword is characterized by the syllable structure and the choice of Chinese character.For the syllable structure,it has a prepondence of trisyllable, which has a far—reaching impact upon the Mandarin Chinese word formation.Then,as the character choice is concerned,although the character in the imitation loanword primarily has n0 solid and special meaning as that in the common loanword,some frequently used characters has its own solid meaning,such as"de"-德,"kang"-康. There are some special reasons and qualifications which leads to the emergency o.f the imitation loanword.and in the thesis we talk it respectively. The vastly used imitation loanword has already caused many negative impacts to the standardization of Mandarin Chinese , which will still harm more the primary education.Thus,we professional researchers should pay more attention to the issue than ever.In order to further the task of the standardization,according to our research we suggest some initial suggestions to the current issue. In sum,in Our observation,we should bear in mind that the imitation loanword has become a issue needed more a~ention,which it is not wise to steer clear of,and cannot be steered clear of.
