Wei Jin, south and North dynasties were the time full of mystery, political chaos and suffering in the history of china. At that time, men of insight showed their disappointment. Therefore, a profound worrying mentality and historical tragedy permeated the essence of philosophy. However, the suffering and serious reality in life stimulated the refreshment and freedom in conviction and literature, the determination to pursue the eternity and infinity of universe in a short and limited life and the spiritual wealth of enriching their individual characteristics. As a result, the focus of philosophy and aesthetics lay in the particular concern about individuals and concentrated on how to rebuild the ideal personality according to the aesthetic standards at that time. And such efforts exceeded the limited, worldly, corrupt, short and mean surroundings. In doing so, people fulfilled their dream of freedom and revolution in thinking and realized the establishment of aesthetic personality and ideal and surrounding. Thus, an exclusive aesthetic ideal and unique beauty in aesthetic personality came into being. Aesthetics played an important role in Chinese ancient aesthetics. Zhi Dun appeared in such circumstance as both a celebrity of wisdom and a monk. Before he experted in Buddhism, like other monks, he relived the education of Buddhism and Taoism. So when he made research on Bi Fu Buddhism, he combined the Neo-Taoism and Buddhism unconsciously. Consequently he established an outstanding Buddhism philosophy and aesthetics with his own style, while helped him become an excellent figure in Buddhism and aversatile monk. He started with Confucianism and then researched 'Lao zi', 'Zhuang zi ', and from these two masterpieces, he probed into Buddhism. He become a thoughts of aesthetic personality. He was broad-minded like other celebrites at that time. What's more, he standed out for his achievement of combing the ideal personality in Buddhism. Taoism and Confucianism and establishing his own ideal personality in the angle of aesthetics. The beauty he pursued is a beauty for each individuals, a beauty for spiritual freedom and profoundness, a beauty for pure soul nature, a beauty for the paradoxes of interior feeling and exterior surroundings, of human nature and emotions, of material being and spiritual existence and of all beauties above. In this papper, the author explores Zhi Dun's whole life, the time he lived and his communication with other celebrities, while can help the reaches understand Zhi Dun's aesthetics ideas, his pursuit and his ultimate achievement in this field. In addition, the author investigates Zhi Dun's 'satori' theory and his accomplishment in the aesthetics of landscape poetry 'carefree-living'.
