"Zhe Zhong" (折衷) is Liu xie' s main method in reviewing articles. According to the author of the present paper, as an "unmatched" (Tian Xiam FuTangRiJi) epoach-making works, the achievement of Wen Xin Diao Long, to a large extent, lies in Liu' s special thinking pattern, namely, "Zhe Zhong" . As far as the status quo of the academic circle is concerned, more research work is needed in light of this aspect. This discussion on "Zhe Zhong" centers around two aspects: one is the overall analysis on "Zhe Zhong", the other is about the application of it in Wen Xin Dao Long, taking Zheng Wei ( 《正纬》) and Bian Sao ( 《辨 骚》 ) as two examples. In chapter One, the author gives a thorough analysis on the idea and principles of "Zhong" and "Zhe Zhong" . Based on this analysis, the author concludes that Liu Xie creatively introduces the idea of "Zhong" and "Zhe Zhong" which belong to the traditional culture into the way of article review, hence founds his unique system of reviewing articles. The method of "Zhe Zhong" in Wen Xin Diao Long is based on both the nature ( "势" , "理" ) of the objects and the process of analyzing of the objects ("擘肌分理") in question, and finally develop the useful and discard the useless. In Chapter Two and Three, the author mainly makes a completeanalysis on the exertion of the method of "Zhe Zhong" in Zheng Wei and Bian Sao and concludes what Liu Xie calls "Zheng Wei" (正纬), "Zhuo Hu Wei" (酌乎纬), "Bian Sao" (辨骚), "Bian Hu Sao" (变乎骚) are the conclusion drawn from this thinking pattern. This view is of great significance in ascertaining Liu' s literary thoughts and in knowing his purpose of putting Zheng Wei and Bian Shao into the "Hinge" part in Wen Xin Diao Long .In the last Chapter, by interpreting the meaning of "Bo Tu" (博 徒) , the author gives a further explanation on the application of "Zhe Zhong" in the sentence of " Being 'Bo Tu' in Ya ( 《雅》 ) and Song(《颂》) yet an expert in writing ode. " According to the author, "Bo Tu" means "rantipoled man" , and Liu Xie uses it to refer to "Chu Ci"(《楚辞》) figuratively by emphasizing the difference between "Chu Ci" and Confucian Classics. In this sense, Liu underlines its changes from Confucian Classics and the far-reaching influence on the literary writing of the later generation.
