This thesis, from a folklore point of view , approaches Austen' s six fictional texts and reveals the beauty of England country world in eighteenth century. With the theory of artistic folklore, It wants to prove that the folklore performs important literary function in Austen' s novels. With the blend of the folklore and literary construction , her novels have achieved unique charm"and aesthetic value. This thesis falls into three parts.Chapter One : "Folklore And The English Literature In Eighteenth Century" Through defining and classifying the folklore , and also through generalizing the development of English folklore study and manner novels , this thesis intents to explain the backdrop which gave birth to Austen' s novels.Chapter two: "The Folk Affairs And Images In Austen' s Novels" By a plentiful displaying of folk affairs and images in Austen' s novels, this thesis wants to explain the incline of folklore in her fictional texts and its effective function in literary construction.Chapter three: "Austen' s Folklore Mentality In Her Literary Thought And Her Novels' Aesthetic Value" Firstly , by analzing the folklore mentality such as "Cinderella complex" etc. , thisthesis intents toexplain the folklore mentality influence on auther' s mind, as well as her attempts of overpass. Secondly, this thesis analyzes the unique charm and aesthetic value of Austen' s novels that combined with the literary function of folklore, and it also insists on the tight combine of them.
