| This dissertation focuses on the condition of conjunction during the period of east-jin and south dynasty through the enveloped description of the conjunction in the Taoist sutra Zhengao. And through the description and analysis of all parts of speeches which each conjunction presents in Zhengao, in the way of synchrony-to-diachrony, to study the development of conjunction from the ancient times to east-jin and south dynasty. It also researches the developmental mechanism of the conjunction by analyzing the relationships between each speeches of the conjunction.It is noticed that there was great development on the study of lexis in east-jin and south dynasty recently. But the research to grammar still stayed cool. Some fields, such as the study on conjunction, are still beyond efforts. This dissertation is just the supplement to those blank fields and concentrates on the study of conjunction in east-jin and south dynasty.Zhengao is the great sutra of the early time of Taoism. It has 150,000 words. The language is plain, which offers good material to linguistic research.First, the 44 conjunction in Zhengao can be divided into 11 categories. They totally appear 2476 times. There are 85 correlatives in all, and they come forth 473 times. The volume of words jointed by conjunctions is 8. Second, through analyzing the parts of speeches presented by conjunctions in Zhengao, we can see the development of the conjunction. Third, by researching the developmental tracks of the conjunction, we found some factors effecting the development. |
