The Research On Farmer's Image In China Canvas

Somebody believes that as the modernization pace of our society continues to accelerate, in modern artist's eyes, the farmer themed art was out of date, kind of symbol of "countrified" and should fade away. But it is not the case, in fact the arts focus on farmer is everlasting and eternal. Art is the total reflection of real life, so the farmer's image that appears on art has significant value both on art and realism sides. Currently, the research on farmer's image is limited into folkway and folk-custom which is narrow-mind.In contrast, using time as a key, the research listed in this article more systemically analyzed the farmer's image diversification in China canvas both from macroscopical and microcosmic aspects. This article analyzed many farmer images throughout the evolution of China canvas from three angles: characteristics, reasons, artistic and cultural significance of farmer's image in different epochs. It also points out that farmer themed art is nothing about "countrified", but can evolvement in many modern forms. With the new changes of our modern farmers, their image will be diversified as we know more about the art. But the diversification itself is not our purpose, the goal is to reflect the inner part of the farmer through language, style and technique.
