The Research On The Legend Of Wushan Goddess

The legend of Wushan Goddess was spread at Warring Times in Sanxia area. Songyu is the first writer who put this legend into print. In his works, Wushan Goddess' positive behavior has become the passion outlet of the following writers and the classical works.Since the infusion of the Taoism, in Tang dynasty, this legend has embodied another spreading content: Wushan Goddess was a heroin, she helped Dayu to cure the flood disaster in Wushan Mountain, and she turned into mountain and became the protector of the people there.In this article, I have made comparing between these two systems (writers' and Taoism spreading systems) and their expression structures. And I also showed the coming into being and development of this legend had some relationship with the physiological and cultural surroundings of the Wushan area.There are different texts of this legend in the folk area, and I made some discussion of its functions, and proposed the ideas that the development of this legend also was the ideals, demands and characters of the people there.
