Born in Quan zhou, Guangxi, JiangMian was honored as the palace graduate in the mid-Ming Dynasty. After being promoted several times, he finally became the deputy cabinet head (prime minister) of the Ming Dynasty. Although he was only in power for two months, he made great achievements and produced deep influence upon the politics of Ming Dynasty, which had won him the name of "Two-month Prime Minister". What is more valuable is that, despite his busy governmental affairs and studies, he wrote more than 700 poems that fully show his romantic literary grace. JiangMian's poems embody earnest emotions and delightful freshness. Many of his works reflect the then social reality, which possess both literary and historical value. His poetry style was mainly learnt from his teacher Qiu Jun. In addition, "the Taige style" poetry school also had certain influence on his creations.The studies of Jiang Mian in the past mainly emphasized on his personality and deeds from the historical angle.
