252 pupils were assessed for cognitive style by means of the Cognitive Styles Analysiswhich indicated their positions on each of the two style dimensions, the Wholist-Analytic andthe Verbal-Imagery. They then were assessed by means of Raven's Standard ProgressiveMatrices (SPM)and mode of presentation of multimedia materials in order to know TheEffect of Cognitive Style,Level of intelligence of Middle School Students and Presentation ofMultimedia Materials on learningThe results indicated: 1)There were no significant gender and grade differences on each of the two styledimensions, the Wholist-Analytic and the Verbal-Imagery in middle school students. Thecorrelation between the ratios of the dimensions and age was nonsignificant as expected ,indicating the independence of them. 2)There was a main effect of Mode of Presentation on the performance of the middleschool students. In terms of overall performance, PTS(picture, text and sound)is superior toPS(picture and sound) and PT(picture and text). In the PS and PT case, there is a reversalwith Gender which is related to whether the styles are complementary or unitary . For thecomplementary groups ,males did better on PS than on PT , while this is reversed for females. For the unitary groups ,the tendency is the other way round with the male better on PT ,andthe females on PS. 3)There was a main effect of Mode of Presentation on the performance of middle schoolstudents according to level of intelligence which is related to their cognitive styles .Performance on mode of presentation of PS was higher for Wholist-Imager of low level ofintelligence. Performance on mode of presentation of PT was higher for Wholist-Imager ofmiddle level of intelligence...
