Human society has gone on the road of industrialization since modem times. Modernization has turn into a key which is used to analyze the social change. The research applies the methods of history, sociology, psychology and architecture to explain the changes and characteristic of development of the city construction in modem times, and then probe into its influence to citizen's life style and regard the modernization of people as the final stopover.This essay consists of five parts:The first part narrates the developing course of city construction organization of municipal administration, which reflects the estabhshment and change of administrative system of the Northeastern city construction in modern times.The second part chiefly elaborates the modernized evolution of the Northeastern city construction in modem times. The construction of road network, the metabolism of conveyances, the westernization of city construction, the base installation, the cultural facilities and hygienic facilities, all of which delineated out a colorful, scientific and healthy ecological environment of material.The third part briefly analyzes the characteristic of the Northeastern city construction in modern times: the colony, the legalization, the internationalization.The fourth part chiefly analyzes the tendency of modernization on citizen's life that is caused by the changes of the ecological environment of material, which has changed the citizen's habit and customs to a certain extend, broadened the frequency and scope of people's association, brought up the citizen's equality consciousness and sense of participation, and trained public moral concept. A generation of new-type personality with modernization and socialization began to take shape.The fifth part analyzes the question that should be paid attention to from the angle of the theory in the city construction. And try hard to offer some reference for revitalizing the Northeast at present.
