Ancient Chinese is rich in the passive sentence, which is always a emphasis in Chinese grammatical studies. Many remarkable conclusions have been made by former scholars, who deeply and worthy discussed it from diachronic and co-exclusive angles. I choose San Guo Zhi and Pel's notes as my studying language material of San Guo and Wei-Jin period. All the passive sentences in the same contemporary work are investigated and counted out, roundly described and analyzed under historical comparative methods. I peek out some common grammatical characters and make conclusions through comparatively studying on passive sentences of San Guo Zhi and Pel's notes. The thesis consists of three parts.Part One: Introduction.In this part, I give a brief introduction of San Guo zhi and Pel's notes 'time and the research value. The definition and classification of the passive sentence in academics are nutshell and my criterion is advanced, then I summarize the survey about it's appearance and development, also studying situation at present, at last, I illuminate research signification and methods.Part Two: The passive sentences of San Guo zhi and Pei 's notes.In this part, I detailed classify and fully depict the passive sentences counted out, basically coordinate their system. Linking existed viewpoint, I conclude the developing and varying characteristics of all sort of passive sentences by comparatively studying, Then I point out the cause of their appearance, development, improvement, disappearance and mutual substitution.There are 1186 passive sentences in San Guo Zhi and Pei s notes, which consist of four kinds: " Yu "Ziju, " Jian " Ziju, " Wei " Ziju, " Bei " Ziju, including the basic sentences and many integrated and crossed sentences. In order to depict every sort ofclassifiers in it, I adopt the following steps:First, give the summarizations of four sort of classifier and analyze the it's structure,Words denoting passiveness and the reasons of it's appearance, development, improvement and disappearance.Second, differentiate the varying sentences from the basic sentences, compliantly depict them and make conclusions of their characteristics form word, sentence and grammar.Part Three: Conclusion.In this part, make conclusions based on the depiction and the analysis of the passive sentences' system and generalize the characteristics from the form, development, combination and component of sentence, accordingly peek out the visage of the passive sentence in Wei-Jin dynasty between ancient times and mediaeval times.
