On The Imagination About The U.S. Of Yan Geling's Chinese Writing

The thesis is made up of three chapters. In the preface, I narrate the present situation of studing Yan Geling's Chinese writing and make clear some basic conceptions of this thesis. The first chapter consists of seven divisions. I mainly analyse the source and development of the imagination on the U.S. in Chinese literature, which is connected with Chinese politics and culture and which becomes the background of the imagination on the U.S. in Chinese writing of Yan Geling's. It is between the sacred and the evil. In the second chapter, I explore the constitution and cause of the exclusivity about the imagination of the U.S. in Chinese writing of Yan Geling's. By comparing with the imagination on the U.S. in other's Chinese writings, an original imagination on the U.S. enters the field of our vision, which consists of liberty and "ration". In the end, I analyse the cause because Yan Geling surmounts herself.
