Hamil was an independent kingdom controlled by the descendants of Mongolian Chagatai. After the foundation of the Ming Dynasty, it became a subordinate state of Ming. The Ming government set up a guarding institution there. So the relationship between Hamil and the Ming Dynasty is complex. Hamil lied in vital communication line between the East and the West, so it became the contended aim of other adjacent countries and nations. In the Ming Dynasty, besides the Ming government, it was mainly Mongol and Tulufan who scrambled for the dominion on Hamil. On the basis of the predecessors' studies achievements, the author of this paper makes a further and deeper exploration on the historical materials, studies and narrates the history of Hamil during one hundred years. The author of the paper tries to make clear the basic history of the fight among the inner Hamil, the Ming Dynasty, Mongol and Tulufan for the scramble and dominion on Hamil, and presents the author's own analysis and understanding on some problems. This paper will promote the studies on Hamil in the Ming Dynasty.This paper includes five parts: first, Hamil in the Ming Dynasty; secondly, the Ming Dynasty's strategies and control over Hamil; thirdly, the Mongol's invasion and robbery of Hamil and its control over Hamil; fourthly, Tulufan's annexation of Hamil; fifthly, the analysis and understanding on some problems about Hamil in the Ming Dynasty.
