Liu sifen's "Bai Men Liu" has been awarded the fourth Maodun Literary Prize , and received good remarks by critics. By far, though there are some critical articles about this novel, they mostly review it from culture and personality etc. This article's theme is the social upheavals and historical fate that the feudal officials of Ming Dynasty experienced, and deep analysis of history characters in the novel. From this point, the article systematically reviews the novel's idea and art.The article has three parts. The first one dissertates the novel's important contribution to history novels. The second analyses te feudal officials' dilemmatic fate. The third emphasizes the artistry of forming the novel's characters.
