The study of literature is in fact the study of literal character or poeticity, whose best expression is the linguistic forms of the literal text. "Records of the Historian" is a monumental work of historiography, and also a famous literary work. This thesis investigates the literary language of "Records of the Historian" text carefully, and probes into various kinds of linguistic forms of "Records of the Historian" text. From the combined angls of the linguistics and literature and art, and the angle of literature linguistics, it anylizes systematically the literal character of "Records of the Historian". It points out that "Records of the Historian" text brings out its strong literal character or poeticity through the aesthetic presentation on phonetic, lexicon, sentence and context Thus it, satisfactorily and convincingly, draws out the literature origin of "Records of the Historian".
