As a kind of traditional Chinese pizzicato musical instrument, Zheng has about two or three thousand years long history. In the course of its spread and development, combined with local dialects, customs and folk music Zheng has gradually formed genres and styles full of regionally feature. At the triangle area between the southeast part of Fujian and the east of Guangdong in China, Zheng was used to being popular in folk history. This area pools three genres of Zheng with its distinctive style of passion and grace: Hakka Zheng, Chaozhou Zheng and Fujian Zheng. Although the geography conditions are different from one to another, due to the influence from the regional customs, folk music and dialects, Zheng gradually has developed into three distinctive genres. This article tries to make a complete comparison of them in a analyse method of folk music.Chapter One, with outlines of its historical development, the method of recording scores, basic models, ways and skills of performance, and the scores, I will make explicates separately on the three traditional genres Hakka Zheng, Chaozhou Zheng and Fujian Zheng.Chapter Two generally descripts the present situation of the three genres. Focusing on their present situation of inheritances, the main inheritors and their recent performances of Hakka Zheng, Chaozhou Zheng and Fujian Zheng. And the latest achievement of research, and the newest scores.Chapter Three carries out a particular comparison to the three genres of Hakka Zheng, Chaozhou Zheng and Fujian Zheng. The comparison is mainly on the techniques of performance. It is divided into three parts of common variation techniques, structures of models, and the special performance skills.
