The Study On Shuowenjiezixizhuan·buxu

Xukai is the first one in Nantang dynasty revise and annotate 《shuowenjiezi》 comprehensive after Liyangbing, He is also the first one analysis the sequence arrangement of bushou in 《shuowenjiezi》.The investigative target is Xukai's 《shuowenjiezixizhuan·buxu》. The article investigate 《buxu》 by systematic method, Base on the different foundation of the bushou's connection , We find Xukai connect buhsourely on three points : the characters' form, the characters' meaning , both the characters' form and meaning. Base on the different distance between two characters, the connective method in 《buxu》 can be divide to two parts: immediate connection and mediate connection.From the integral paper we can see Xukai emphasize particularly onthe meanings' connection. In 《buxu》, the meanings of bushou are in conformwith Xushen' s explaination on a high degree, but in the other side, thereare too many connection rely on the meanings , exceed half of the whole, areconnected farfetched,the reasons include:connect two irrelative bushou,insert another one; change Xushen' s connection evidence, change the formto the meaning;use comparison in confusion to connect the meanings; usethe incorrect evidence connect bushou; neglect the ancient writing ofbushou that Xushen had noted, and so on.The meanings of bushou unfitXushen' s explaination can be divided to several types: Xushen use theoriginal meaning, Xukai use the extended meaning; Xushen use the originalmeaning, Xukai use the suppositive meaning; Xushen use the extendedmeaning, Xukai use another extended meaning ;Xushen use the suppositivemeaning, Xukai use the original meaning or the extended meaning; Xushenuse the suppositive meaning, Xukai use another suppositive meaning; Xushenuse the suppositive meaning, Xukai use the other one meaning, and so on.Basing on our comprehension to Xushen' s 《shuowenjiezi ·xu》,we cansee that Xukai emphasize particularly on the meanings' connection is notlogical. Moreover, Xukai can not justify himself on the whole illustratethis point. On the other side, we should see Xukai had noted the forms'connection too; expectically commendable is that in 《buxu》, fractionbushou are connected rely on the forms and the meanings compatible. EvenDuanyucai and Wangyun had not noted. Moreover, Xukai connect bushouwithout the sections and chapters' limitation, this point providereference for the subsequent researchers study 《shuowenjiezi》.
