Vocal music teaching is one of the most important activities to inherit and develop humankind's civilization. As far as the skills of vocal music are concerned, it refers to imparting the theory and skills of vocalizing and singing to the students by vocal music teacher. With regard to the characteristics of the subject, vocal music teaching attaches much emphasis to practice, pertinence and cooperation, subjectivity and non-intuition in operation. After fully admitting the teachers' important role in vocal music teaching, this article brings forward the viewpoint that it is equally significant to completely inspire the students' initiative, respectively regarding the teacher-factor and the student-factor, which simultaneously influence the students" initiative, as the system of teacher-factor and the system of student-factor.Centering on the theoretical basis of exerting students' initiative in vocal music teaching, its significance, connotation, restricting factors, and approaches to realization, this article systematically analyses the various impacts of inspiring students' initiative on the process of vocal music teaching.
