| This thesis mainly observes the history,connotation and practical significance of traditional Chinese vocal music theory.Chronologically,thanks to its birth settings,it takes on the characteristics of diversity and openness.Synchronically,it is deeply rooted in Chinese vocal music tradition.The author hopes such work would draw more people's attention to it and ultimately adoance research in this field.The author develops, her work in three parts.Part I .Birth settings and Development:Three things are of vital importance at this point,namely,the natural environment,the humanistic environment and musical theorists.Natural environment:Fivstly through the process of time,AgricultureCiviliza-tion in ancient China gave birth to the vocal music theory.It is best exemplified by the fact vegion names are used to call different music,for instance,Qin Sheng and Zhao Qu.Secondly,the idea of "Heaven and man being are"imbues vocal music Theory with an emphasis on natural beauty.Humanistic environment:When it comes to,the author refers to sociocultural aspects like totemism,religion culture and the sence of nites.A close look at Totemism reveals the relationship between Taiji Diagram and diversity and openness.while the sence of rites,together with the religion culture that combines Buddhism,Taoism and Confucianism,have exerted great influence upon the aesthetic viewpoints embodied in music theory.Theorists:As subject of music study.they put forward the research generation after geveration.For its development ,Chinese vocal music theory underwene three stages,that is,the infancy stage,(before Taug and song Dynasty) ,rising time (during Tang and song Dynasty),and mature stage (after Tang and song till Qing).the first stage is characterized by the perceptual description of art forms and aesthetic feelings the second period gears toward better research method,and the last stage saw a systematic study of vocal music theory and the production of many books on specific issues.Part II .Connotation and Practical significance.This part studies on The langrage.Method, breath, and imagery of singing and its practical significance.A.Langrage of singing and its ptactical significance.There always exists a contradiction between rightwords and appealing sounds.Quite often it seem to be a matter of lefaining one at the sacrifice of the other.Indeed,the author had been fully aware of this problem and has done some suggestive work here in the following two aspects.On the one hand.the author studies on the basis such as words in singing including detailed explanation on the Five sounds,Four Breath and Four sounds,and on the other hard,the author tries to offeran acceptable way of pronouncing every word correctly in asweet.mellow voice by studing on the positive role of the prefix.the belly,the affix,and Four sounds.B.Method of singing and its practical significance.According to the traditional vocal music theory.it is leemed that the polished full tune can solve the between right words and appealing sounds.lt is also seemed that the polished full tune can act much on the same contradiction of the morden vocal music theory and take great effect on establishing a certain style of vocal music.Furthermore,the various of vocal character is connected with another method of singing called seeking sound according to the fune and shifting tune according to the sound The authour believe that in fact.this method can be transferred into the morden vocal music theory definitely. C.Breath "Good control of breath makes an excellent singer,"so said the traditional theory.Accordingly,one can control his breath either by Dan Tian or the Diaphragms control or by his emotion.There's pretty much truth in it .Anamony findings have provided scientific evidence for Dan Tian,while no singing without emotion is universally recognized.D.Imagery Lyrics of any appealing songs are exactly something of poetry,with fantastic world waiting for exploration.Therefore, singing is by no means a craft skill only.Rather,it takes a thorought understanding and appreciation... |
