In the 20th century, Modernist Literature was not one of the main trends in the course of the development of Chinese literature. However, in 1930s in Shanghai, Modernist Poetry represented by Dai Wangshu, The New Perceptionalism by Liu Na'ou and Mu Shiying and Psychoanalytical Fictions by Shi Zhecun together formed the first climax of Modernist Literature in China. Shi Zhecun was the key man to the prosperity of Shanghai Modernist Literature in 1930s. On the one hand , the magazine 《Comtemporary》editted by Shi Zhecun played a very important role in introducing Western modernist literature and improving Chinese modernist literature. And it became a front for Modernist writers. On the other hand, Shi Zhecun presented the theory of Modern Emotion, which showed the way for the development of Modernist Poetry in theory from content to form. In addition, the most important thing was Shi Zhecun's Psychoanalytical Fictions, as a wonderful landscape in modern literary world, establish his position in the history of Chinese Modernist Literature.
