Chinese folk art is one of the important parts of Chinese culture. It's has thousands years of history and has been well kept until now. In the Chinese people's life it is the most welcomed art form. For these, Chinese folk art is the pride of Chinese people and is the unique culture advantage of China. When oil-painting was introduced into China, the problem of it's nationality and nationalization had aroused many Chinese artists' concern. Some artists even took nationality and nationalization as their dream to pursue for life. After briefly introducing the history of Chinese oil-painting and nationality and nationalization of Chinese oil-painting, the paper takes New Year picture, paper cutting, cloth painting and other representative forms of Chinese folk art as example to discuss the painting characteristics of Chinese folk art, and at the same time analyses these characteristics' revelations to the nationalization of Chinese oil-painting. The paper views that the nationalization of Chinese oil-painting should assimilate the painting characteristics of Chinese folk art and this kind of artistic inosculation will ensure formal innovation and breakthrough of Chinese oil-painting.
