| Chinese culture has long historical pass and inheritance, for example, Chinese dancing art was born before the record of writing. Before Qin Dynasty and Qin-Han Dynasties were the rudimentary and initial developing age of every kind of arts including music and dance, and military music and dance was also included in them. In this paper, the writer probes into the source, change, development and its appliance in military practice of military music and dance of the age of before Qin Dynasty and Qin-Han Dynasties from the angle of military culture.The development of our country's ancient military music and dance presented two tendencies: Firstly, with the change of its serving objects (the form of war), the military music and dance changed continuously its own form, from primitive gesture dance to weapon dance, then to Shang Dynasty and Zhou Dynasty's Large battle array dance--Wan dance, before Qin Dynasty and Qin-Han Dynasty's form of Gu Chui and Heng chui. Secondly, it changed to ancestral temple music and dance, that is, military musicand dance was transformed into a music used in ceremony--elegant music and dance.This was also called the cevemonization phenomenon of military music and dance. The above two mutually formed the existing state of our country's military music and dance of before Qin Dynasty and Qin-Han Dynasties. The causes of ceremonization Phenomenon of military music and dance were military music and dance's own developing law as an art and the rulers' promotion so as to safeguard their ruling position, the latter was a deeper cause. In this term, military music and dance's was applied widely in military struggle and national defence construction. For example, It played an important role in military drill, army's memorial ceremony, battle array command, inspiring morale and rewarding army with bounties, etc. The rulers constructed the specified ideological cultural atmosphere, by the performance of military music and dance, made the soldiers know feudal ceremony and legal system to attain the aim of concentrating power, strengthening discipline and increasing the combat effectiveness. At the same time, military music and dance of before Qin Dynasty and Qin-Han Dynastiesas its unique features had specific position and role inour country's cultural history. It was not only a component part of our country's ancient cultural art but also an important carrier of Chinese traditional cultural pass and inheritance. |
