Renaissance is interim from medieval to modern society. During the period, Italy had experienced important transform of politic , economic and cultural. These changes inevitably influenced heavily on elementary and secondary schooling.The most notable character of schooling in that time is emphasis on secular education. Studia Humanitatis was taken into account, thus, humanistic education rose. Meantime, research on vernacular began. So, Renaissance Italy had three kindsof schools--communal, independent and church schools, two kinds of curricula--fundamental subject and practical subject. This paper analyzed these schoolsand curricula, then inspected the rate of school entrance, and concluded that kind and degree of education are relevant to the social economic status. At last, I probed excellent humanist educators' educational thoughts, and confirmed their great contribution to the education.On the other hand, elementary and secondary schooling in Renaissance had huge reaction to Italian society, then played profound role in Renaissance even modern Italy. Its thoughts and method spread out to the rest of Europe in the early fifteenth century.
