The Merging Of Affection And Intellect In Technical Ability Of Erhu-Performing

In the circles of performing arts, there is always a dispute between the party of "experience" and that of "performance". The same dispute whether performing in fact is an emotion predominant process or rational predominant process exists in the circle of music performing too. Though having a great accumulation methods of validity in the research of technique and music diathesis, the instrumental teaching and the system of musical performance in tradition are still in a state of spontaneous and disorder in the reseach of mental and cogitate methods. Erhu-performing technical ability in which the mental ability can influece to a large extent the expression of performing technique is gained through the harmonious development of music intelligence with muscle. Thus the roles of affection and intellect play a great part in erhu performing due to the special characteristics of erhu. The author attemps to discuss how the combination of affection and intellect in the technical ability affects the performer's mental state from the aspect of psychology, and how the performer should make the best use of the relationship between affection and intellect, and make it benefit to give free rein to the performing technical and to convey melody mood.The paper trys to discuss the mingle of affection and intellect in technical ability of erhu-performing .Part Idifferentiates and analyses the meaning of and the relationship between affection and intellect; Part II discusses the function of intellect in technical ability of erhu-performing in detail from the aspect of psychology operational modes and the function of affection from the problem of affection reations and of affection complexity; Part III discusses the merging of affection and intellect in technical ability of erhu-performing in practice from four stages: namely the comprehension and exercise of melody, the approach and living performing. Affection, and intellect should interrelate, influence and restrict each other. But intellect should keep a firm hand on affection, a excellent erhu-player should have a level head while he is in passionate mind, following the idea that intellect is dominant in performing.
