An Observation On The Varied-analyzing Of The Sentences In Ma's Grammar

Ma's Grammar, the first systematic Chinese grammar research work in China, is great important in history of Chinese linguistics, especially in Chinese grammar research history. Lots of researches in many aspects have been already carried on since it coming out. On the basis of what forefathers studied, this article uses the overall investigation to it's varied-analytical method of the sentences. The article divides into six parts.In the preface, we introduces the general situation of research on Ma's Grammar, and the varied-analytical method and it's application for Chinese Language analyzing. Then the technical procedure to this paper has been explained.The second part deals with the general situation and the terms of the varied-analyzing used in Ma's Grammar. We point out that Ma's Grammar has used the varying method to analyze the sentences, including the varying that employed by Ma Jian-zhong himself and that quoted from other books. At the same time we quantify thoroughly those sentences analyzed by the varied-method. And a large mount of the terms have been counted and classified.The third part is the methods of varying used in Ma's Grammar. The article divides them into two kinds: One is the simple varying, the other the complicated varying.The forth parts is the components of the varied sentences, that is, the words, the phrases and the sentences.The fifth part is the functions of the varying method. The article presents that the method, first, is applied to syntactic analysis which including the analysis to the composition of the sentence and to the type of sentences. Secondly, it is used to therhetoric analyses, including' four kinds of positive rhetoric means and three kinds of passive ones.The last part is to appraise the work in three aspects of the sources, value and defects of the varying-method. In conclusion, we point out that the method of varying in Ma's Grammar stems from Chinese Exegesis and is the heritage and the development of it. The method of the varied- analyzing of sentences in Ma's Grammar has important theoretic and practical value and meanwhile there is some flaws in Ma's varied-analyzing.
