ZhaoYi was one of the greatest poets and historians in the Qing dynasty . People have considered ZhaoYi, YuanMei and JiangShiQuan as the Three Great Masters of Qianlong period. In 1766, that was in QianLong 31, he was chosen to be the magistrate of ZhenAn prefecture. Being near with Viet Nam, ZhenAn was the important borderland of South-West of China at that time. As an honest and upright administer, he tried hard to do some good deeds for the ZhenAn people and gained love and support from them. Futurity also think highly of him and show their respect to him. During one or more years as ZhenAn administer, he wrote down many poems on ZhenAn. After retirement, he again wrote twenties articles on recalling the life in ZhenAn. These beautiful literary pieces represent the politics and economics of ZhenAn during the QianLng period. Because of reflecting the folk custom in ancient times, the pieces become important references for people to study the local nationalities' history and culture, such as folk songs fair, strange way of getting heterosex, living in not-husband house after marriage and BinLang culture.The poems on ZhenAn prefecture are chosen from Bei Collection)) and《panPu Notes》 . The book is based on the annotations of these poems andexpounds the geographical features, local products, customs and socialconditions mentioned in above two books. We try hard to describe a real pictureon the society of ZhenAn during QianLong period.
