| Using the achievement acquired by the domestic and foreign scholars for reference, and applying the theories of linguistics, etymology, social linguistics and ethnology, The article conducts synchronic and diachronic study on Uighur kinship names.The article is divided into four chapter.Chapter I is the preface. It discusses the importance of studying Uighur kinship names, outlines the present research condition on Uighur kinship names in and out of country and introduces the train of thought and the method of studying Uighur kinship names.Chapter II is on modern Uighur kinship names and its system. It consists of two parts. First part collects 68 modern Uighur kinship names. According to the kinship relation expressed by these titles, It mainly makes a synchronic study on modern Uighur kinship names from the point of following four aspects: kinship structure, word structure, semantic structure and category structure, and makes conclusion on the features of modern Uighur kinship names, putting together the reality of modern Uighur kinship names, and adopting the "four branch theory " which was put forward by the American scholar-R.H Roway, Second part classifies kinship names and draws a conclusion that the system of modern Uighur kinship names basically belongs to "直系型" (Father ≠[Father' brother=Mother's brother]; Mother^ [Mother's sister=Father's sister]), which is again under a variable condition. This chapter is the base of the whole article.Chapter III is on the ethnology of Uighur kinship names. Applying achievement of Turkic studies around the world for reference, It focuses on the kinship ralation expressed by modern Uighur kinship names, and makes an diachronic study on theethnology of kinship names that ever expressed above these kinships.This chapter is the key part of the article.Chapter IV is on the historical change on the system of Uighur kinship names, based on the content of chapterIII, It induces Uighur kinship names which existed in different periods, applying the theory of ethnology , it analyses the systems of Uighur kinship names from 8 th century A *D to middle period of 9 th century A *D and from 11st to 14th centuries A - D. in accordance with the " four branch theory", it classifies them respectively into groups, and reveals the development progress of the system of the Uighur kinship names which is: "二分åˆå¹¶åž‹" (Father=Father's brother≠Mother's brother ; Mother=Mother's sister≠Father's sister) → (Father≠ather's brother≠Mother's brother;Mother=Mother's sister^Father's sister) →"二分æ—系型"(Father≠Father's brother≠Mother's brother ;Mother≠Mother's sister≠Father's sister)→"直系型"(Father^[Father'sbrother=Mother's brother] ;Mother≠[Mother's sister =Father's sister])... |
