Some research on Wang Chuanshan' s thought of nature and practice has been pub.I ished, but how to understand the connotation of the theory profoundly and accurately based on his philosophy system, it' s still a valuable task. Based on the previous research, from the view of philosophy of education, the thesis reveals the connotation of nature and practice, expounds the relation between two categories, and then analyzes historical position of the theory, which' s an unfinished work . The thesis will try to make slender innovation for thisarea.Firstly, the thesis will expound the theoretical connotation of nature and practice. Based on Chuanshan' s phi losophy of Qi, he thinks that human' s nature is the entia of emotional appetites and rational moralities. Putting human nature into the relations among the Nature, human, and the living things, Chuanshan believes that human nature comes from the Nature which is objective law, while human nature is related to human' s subjectivity. Both human and living things have natures, not only do human have special physiological organs and functions different from living things, but also human have morality, to the most important, human nature has the feature of unceasing creation. Then it' s on the connotation of practice, which has two meanings. One is the practice of dying, which means that human is influenced imperceptibly and passively by the surroundings. The other is the practice of doing, which means that human is engaged in the moral practice actively, for example, learning, being educated, and practising. The practice of doing includes two kinds of activities, learning and putting moral knowledge into practice.Secondly, it's the theory of relation between nature and practice, which includes three propositions, "succeeding to the goodness of the Nature and forming nature" , "practice making nature" , and "nature developing and forming with day and day" .The first endows old Confucian sutra with new meaning, that is to say, makes use of old proposition and develops it.The latter bring forthnew ideas and condense his thought as two new propositions. "Succeeding tothe goodness of the Nature and forming nature" means that human succeeds to the goodness of the Nature consciously, based on which, through practice, and accumulates stable psychological structure. "practice making nature" empasizes nature relies on practice which is a bridge to link congenital nature and postnatal nature , furthermore, acquired nature varies with the postnatal practice. Being good or evil depends on practice fully. "Nature developing and forming with day and day" stresses the feature of process and creation of nature.Human' s congenital nature deploies and develops gradually in postnatal practice. Uncompleted nature can be formed, while, fixed nature can be changed , which provides full freedom for human' s creativity, stressing the importance of human' s moral subjectivity in the course of forming nature. Lastly, it' s about historical position of the theory. In the process of moving practice, Wang Chuanshan analyzes the relation between nature and practice dialectically. To his opinion, nature and practice are interrelated and mutual ly dependent, also formed each other. The thought represents the most high level achivement, however, Chuanshan' s thought has not completely given up the view which thinks nature is good, although the practice has the meaning of practising, yet only restricted to moral aspect of individulity, which has not the implication of social and historical practice, moreover, influenced by the thinking method of entia of the Nature and human, he can not deeply analyze the relations between the Nature and human, between the nature and human' s culture. While to us today, the dialectical wisdom and the stress on human' s moral initiative in the course of forming nature have enlightenments to understand deeply some educational proppositions and strengthen construction of moral subjectivity.
