Christianity In Taiwan Under Japanese Rule,1895-1945

Taking Taiwan Presbyterian the focus of study, the paper is to explore the history of Taiwan Christianity under the Japanese rule, emphatically analy its efforts and effects in indigenization movement, propagation among the aborigines ,medical and educational work.. The paper points out: compared with the situation in Qing Dynasty, Taiwan Christianity had made a big progess under the Japanese rule. For the sake of its own interests, Taiwan Christianity obeyed and served Japanese rulc instead of the wishes of the Taiwan people . Therefore its effects in Taiwan society were limited.
