In the flourishing spices trade during the Song Dynasty, frankincense and other spices were imported together to China and exerted great influence upon the social life then. Compared with other spices, frankincense was abundant, cheap and widely-used. Therefore, its influence was left as the largest. The paper goes into deep analysis, based on the former spices study, and tries to prove the important status of frankincense in the spices trade during the Song Dynasty, and its profound influence resulted out of the process of the cultural inter- communication between China and other countries.
