Based on th6 texs of Ten ChaiCa Chinese Comedies, the thesis is an atteInPt toinvestigate and evaluate the stereotwical pattem and aesthetic value of classicalMse comedies. Manifestations and fimotions of major StrUCtUI faotrs of theseworks are weighed and Studied with the pmpose to perceive their intrinsical relation tothe comedy art and tO reval the whque aesthetic outlook and artistic vaiue of ussliterary genr. The essay consists of five parts. Part I is a brief intrduction of thethesis stateInen, some relevant concePts and the method of research the peialeInPhasis on the interpretaion of comedy and featUrs of comedy, of StrUCtUr andStrUCtUr of comedy and of concePts such as dishannony and their dialectical wtPartII is a dendled analysis of the mode of characters and static StrUdri and aconclusion of their aesthedc charateristics. Part m is a research into the artiniccreation of comedies and their distinctive naional featUrs by anaomizing the mode ofplOts of the classical Chinese comedies. Part IV mainly examines the fictitious aspectof comedy connicts and the aestheic value of dishannnious strUCtUr. In theconcluding part, the author points out that the constituional facors in comdywt, such as modes of chareders, develoPment of plots and comedy coallictseXert a comPrehensive rmuence on the aesthetic effect of comedies. They areinterrlated and interaded on each othef, theeby tO constitue the format of StrUCtUrof classical Chinese comedies as well as their aesthetic featUrs their aesthetic featUrs.
